Gol to Expand Flights to Venezuela

Gol Linhas Aéreas will expand its service between São Paulo’s Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) and Caracas, Venezuela, starting July 4, adding a fourth weekly frequency on the route. The new operation will introduce an additional flight on Saturdays, increasing the schedule to four departures per week from Guarulhos on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The airline will maintain the service with the Boeing 737 MAX 8, which has seating for up to 176 passengers. The new weekly frequency will use the same departure times already applied on the other days of operation. Flights from Guarulhos will depart at 5:10 p.m., while the return service from Caracas will leave at 11:50 p.m., in local times for each city.

The São Paulo–Caracas route was reinstated in August 2025 after a nine-year suspension, marking Gol’s return to the Venezuelan market. The expansion is part of the company’s broader strategy to strengthen links across the Southern Cone and diversify its international network from São Paulo.

For passengers traveling through GRU, the added frequency may improve connectivity, especially for customers connecting to and from Gol’s domestic network. The airline says travelers arriving in São Paulo can access more than 30 domestic destinations operated by the company, supporting links between South America and the rest of Brazil.

The increase in capacity reflects growing attention to regional air links between Brazil and Venezuela, with Gol positioning the route as part of its international growth plan. By adding the Saturday flight, the carrier is offering more flexibility for both business and leisure travelers moving between the two capitals.

With this change, Gol continues to build on its return to Caracas and strengthen its role in connecting major South American markets through its São Paulo hub.
