Another Mysterio Family Member Is Set to Join WWE, and Fans Can’t Wait
Aalyah Mysterio may be the next member of the Mysterio family to step into a WWE ring. Rey Mysterio recently said on The Undertaker’s Six Feet Under podcast that his daughter has started training at the WWE Performance Center, signaling that she is seriously pursuing a career in professional wrestling.
According to Rey, Aalyah first tried training with him last October and enjoyed it. He then encouraged her to spend two weeks at the Performance Center, training like a full-time recruit from Monday through Friday. She returned for another two-week stint in February and reportedly loved that experience as well. Rey said she is now preparing to go back and continue building herself at the facility.
Aalyah’s decision to train comes after she completed her education. Rey said he wanted her to finish school before committing fully to wrestling. She graduated from the University of California San Diego in July 2025 with a degree in Human Biology and later showed her diploma to her father as a sign she was ready to move forward. With her degree completed, she appears to be taking the next step toward a wrestling career.
Her potential arrival in WWE has drawn attention because the Mysterio name already carries major weight in the business. Rey Mysterio remains one of the most iconic luchadores in wrestling history, and the family has already been involved in prominent WWE storylines through Rey and his son, Dominik Mysterio. If Aalyah succeeds, she would add another generation to a family that has become closely tied to WWE programming.
Still, becoming a successful wrestler is far from guaranteed. The article notes that children of wrestling legends have had mixed results in the industry. Some, such as The Rock, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Charlotte Flair, became major stars. Others, including Simone Johnson, Richie Steamboat, Noelle Foley, and David Flair, did not reach the same level of success.
If Aalyah does debut, questions remain about her in-ring style and character. As the daughter of a legendary luchador, she could follow in Rey’s footsteps with a masked persona, or she may choose a different path. The article also suggests that WWE’s current roster of luchadores, including Penta, Axiom, and Dragon Lee, could make this a strong time for another masked performer to enter the mix.
Another possible direction would be a storyline connection to Judgment Day. Since the faction continues to play a major role in WWE, Aalyah could theoretically fit into that group if she progresses quickly enough. With Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, and Roxanne Perez among its members, and Dominik Mysterio already involved, the storyline potential is obvious.
For now, Aalyah’s future remains in training, but Rey Mysterio’s comments have made it clear that she is working seriously toward a possible WWE debut.
