Taylor Frankie Paul Opens Up About Past Mistakes in Reflective New Post

Taylor Frankie Paul reflected on personal mistakes and emotional struggles on the final day of Mental Health Awareness Month, sharing a candid message with followers on Instagram as she continued processing the upheaval in her life between March and May 2026. In a new slideshow of photos, the “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star said she was still dealing with the fallout from recent drama and encouraged others who may be struggling to remember they are not alone. She also urged people to take life seriously, learn from mistakes, and still allow themselves moments of joy, noting that it is okay to smile again after difficult experiences.
Paul’s message followed an earlier Mental Health Awareness Month post in early May, when she shared an AI-generated image of herself with bruises and scratches. In the caption, she suggested the image represented how she was feeling physically and emotionally, referencing pain, tension, dehydration, poor nutrition, and wounds that are not always visible to others. Her posts highlighted a period of intense personal and professional turmoil that has played out publicly over the past several months.
The reality star’s situation escalated after reports surfaced that production on season 5 of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” had been halted amid alleged domestic disputes involving her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. A video later circulated online showing Paul appearing to strike Mortensen and throw metal chairs, one of which reportedly hit her minor daughter and left a visible mark. The clip emerged just days before Paul was expected to begin her season of “The Bachelorette,” but ABC and Disney decided not to move forward with the show after the backlash surrounding the footage.
Following the video’s release, Paul said she was struggling with the heavy circumstances but felt pressure to keep showing up for opportunities already underway. She said the moment was difficult and unfortunate, yet explained that stepping back would mean giving away work she had already committed to. Mortensen also addressed the situation through his representative, saying he had wanted to keep the personal issues private.
The fallout also affected the future of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.” Sources indicated that season 5 will not be completed as originally planned. Instead, Hulu is expected to release only the five episodes that had already been filmed before production stopped in March 2026. While the remainder of the season was scrapped, reports said confessionals are still being filmed and that season 6 remains in development.
At the same time, Hulu is expanding the “Mormon Wives” franchise with a new spin-off set in Orange County, California. The new series is expected to feature a group of young mothers and influencers, including Bobbi Althoff, Madison Bontempo, Aspyn Ovard, Avery Woods, Salomé Andrea, Chandler Hagginson, Ashleigh Pease, McCall DaPron, and Jen Affleck. The show will explore faith, identity, friendship, scandal, and changing family dynamics as the cast builds its own version of #MomTok.
