Maddy Receives a Sexual Proposition in Euphoria’s Alamo Scene Before Her Death

The supposed series finale of Euphoria answered a question that had puzzled viewers: what exactly happened between Maddy and Alamo. In the Sunday, May 31 episode, Maddy, played by Alexa Demie, visited Alamo, played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, at his strip club after previously striking a deal with him to help save Nate’s life. Although Nate’s death was avoided, Maddy remained indebted to Alamo, setting up an uneasy confrontation in the finale.

During their encounter, Alamo reflected on his life and tried to move toward a more respectable future. He propositioned Maddy, asking her to have his children so he could build a wholesome family life instead of continuing with drugs and other criminal activity. The scene then showed Alamo touching Maddy as she sat on his lap, but the moment cut away before viewers could see what happened next. Shortly after, Ali, played by Colman Domingo, interrupted the scene by shooting up the club to distract Alamo. The show strongly implied that Maddy briefly went along with Alamo’s advances in order to protect herself.

That moment helped clarify a previous scene that had confused fans earlier in the season. In that episode, Alamo had instructed Maddy to put on a bathing suit and get into a hot tub before agreeing to help her secure the $1 million needed to save Nate. The scene ended without explanation, leaving viewers unsure whether Maddy had been forced into a sexual arrangement to get the money. The finale suggested that the relationship between Maddy and Alamo carried that implication, though the show did not state it outright.

Euphoria, which debuted in 2019, originally centered on Rue, a troubled high school student played by Zendaya, as she battled sobriety after rehab and navigated the lives of those around her. The series quickly earned a second season, but production delays stretched the gap between seasons. The wait between seasons 2 and 3 was even longer, due to scheduling conflicts, industry strikes, a time jump in the story, and creator Sam Levinson’s other commitments, including The Idol.

The show returned in 2026 with major storylines involving drug trafficking, Cassie turning to OnlyFans, and Nate facing the consequences of debts owed to dangerous people. Before the season wrapped, Levinson would not confirm whether more episodes were coming. In an April interview with Variety, he said he writes each season as if it could be the last and had no plans for a fourth season at the time. He added that he was focused on finishing the season as strongly as possible.

As of now, Euphoria is streaming on HBO Max.
