Bunnie Xo has shared the origin story of her relationship with Jelly Roll, tracing their romance back to Las Vegas in August 2015, before the country singer became widely known. At the time, Jelly Roll was performing at the Las Vegas Country Saloon while living in a van and playing for a small crowd of about 20 people, according to his and Bunnie’s recollections. Despite the humble setting, Bunnie said she felt an immediate connection and described the moment as unforgettable, saying that she felt as if she had found the person she was meant to meet.
Although the first encounter was memorable, the two did not begin dating right away. Bunnie said she was involved in an unhealthy relationship at the time, while Jelly Roll was focused on his own life and career. They crossed paths again in October 2015, and Bunnie later admitted that she was already deeply interested in him. Her feelings continued to grow after her then-boyfriend went to prison, at which point she asked a friend to pass along her phone number to Jelly Roll.
