Molly Sims, 53, Urges Women to Avoid Marrying ‘Cheap’ Men

Molly Sims is speaking candidly about relationships, money, and the importance of compatibility. In a recent appearance on the Hot Smart Rich podcast, the 53-year-old model and entrepreneur warned women against marrying “cheap” men, saying that financial values can become a major source of conflict in a marriage. Sims, who recently returned to the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue for the eighth time, said that couples need to be aligned not only on money, but also on parenting and overall life priorities.
Sims said her own marriage to husband Scott Stuber has involved honest conversations about finances, especially because of difficult experiences he had before their relationship. She explained that working through those issues was emotional and sometimes hurtful, but also necessary. According to Sims, partners should know the good, bad, and ugly of each other’s financial situation and be willing to discuss how they handle money, protect their future, and manage shared responsibilities. Her central message was direct: if someone is cheap, don’t marry them.
Beyond her comments on relationships, Sims also has a long history with Sports Illustrated. She first appeared in the magazine’s Swimsuit issue in 2001 and has become one of the familiar faces associated with the publication. Her latest return places her among a new group of 2026 SI Swimsuit stars that includes models and public figures such as Haley Baylee, Lauren Chan, Jocelyn Corona, Olivia Dunne, Bethenny Frankel, Tiffany Haddish, Ilona Maher, Hunter McGrady, and Brooks Nader. Sims has previously said she believes taking chances at a younger age can lead to rewarding opportunities later in life.
In addition to modeling, Sims has built a successful business career. She is the founder of YSE Beauty, a skincare brand aimed at women over 35 who want effective products without complicated routines. Launched in 2023, the company has already earned 11 awards, raised more than $3 million in seed funding, and later secured a $15 million Series A round led by Silas Capital. The brand also entered Sephora in June 2025, further expanding its reach.
Sims’ return to Sports Illustrated adds another high-profile moment to a career that has crossed fashion, beauty, and entrepreneurship. Her comments on the podcast reflect a message she has repeated in different forms: relationships work best when partners share values, communicate openly, and approach money with the same mindset.
