3 Injured, Including 10-Year-Old Child, in Crash with A13 Service Truck

An accident occurred on the A13 highway in the Paris-to-Caen direction near Saint-Ouen-de-Thouberville in Eure, close to the Seine-Maritime border, on Wednesday morning, May 26, 2027, according to 76Actu. A motorist collided with a truck belonging to SAPN, the Paris-Normandy motorway company.

Three people were injured in the crash, including a child. Two men, aged 36 and 38, suffered serious injuries. The 36-year-old man was taken to Rouen University Hospital, while the 38-year-old was transported to Elbeuf Hospital. A 10-year-old child was also injured and taken to Rouen University Hospital. The SAPN truck driver was not hurt.

Following the accident, the A13 was closed near the Maison Brûlée interchange, according to the Seine-Maritime prefecture on social media. The closure caused several kilometers of traffic congestion, with long delays reported on the motorway. Drivers were advised to use exit 24 toward Paris as an alternative route.

The incident adds to growing concern over road safety in Normandy, where motorway workers have recently faced a series of accidents. The A13 is one of the region’s main traffic routes, and the crash led to significant disruption during the late morning rush period. Authorities did not immediately provide additional details about the circumstances of the collision or the condition of the injured people beyond the initial report.

Traffic remained heavily affected after the roadblock, with motorists urged to avoid the area if possible and follow official diversion instructions. The accident took place during a period of difficult weather conditions in Normandy, where strong thunderstorms and hail were also forecast for Wednesday afternoon amid a heatwave.
