Tony Awards’ Hottest Party Lights Up with Daniel Radcliffe and More

Broadway’s Tony Awards after-party at the Carlyle Hotel turned into a marathon celebration that lasted until 4 a.m., drawing winners, nominees, and theater insiders to the Upper East Side venue. Hosted by PR executive Rick Miramontez and producers John Gore and Jamie DuMont, the annual gathering became a place for winners to celebrate and for others to commiserate after a big night on Broadway.

The evening featured live music from Jim Caruso and Billy Stritch, who performed standards at Bemelmans Bar, where guests clustered around the piano to watch impromptu performances. Among those in attendance were Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, Bowen Yang, Rachel Dratch, Ana Gasteyer, Lily Rabe, Hamish Linklater, Benj Pasek, Leslesy Manville, and Mark Strong. Darren Criss later jumped on the piano and sang Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer,” adding to the night’s spontaneous, old-school party atmosphere.

The event also doubled as a reunion. Daniel Radcliffe, who was nominated for a Tony for “Every Brilliant Thing,” was seen with his longtime girlfriend Erin Darke and met up with former child co-star Tom Felton, now appearing in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.” Radcliffe moved through the crowded room and settled into a back banquette as the party continued.

Fashion and celebrity sightings were a major part of the night. Bee Shaffer, Anna Wintour’s daughter, was seen holding hands with theater producer Greg Nobile. Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos attended in support of their son Joaquin, who made his Broadway debut in “Death of a Salesman.” Ripa said they were extremely proud of him and felt very lucky.

Several Tony winners and nominees were also spotted enjoying the festivities. Ali Louis Bourzgui, who won for Best Featured Actor in “The Lost Boys,” said he was shocked by the win and had expected to simply applaud the winner from his seat. Zhailon Levingston, who won for co-directing “Cats: The Jellicle Ball,” said the show’s reimagining as an LGBTQ Vogue ball was connecting with audiences from young children to older theatergoers, and that holding the trophy made his younger self “giddy.”

The crowd included Megan Thee Stallion, Jim Parsons, Ariana DeBose, Jessica Vosk, Madeline Brewer, Lauren Patten, Michael Kors, Lance LePere, Cole Escola, David Moses, Sarah Paulson, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Nicole Scherzinger, Alia Shawkat, Rachel Antonoff, and others. Upstairs, the mezzanine had been converted into a disco, with music by DJ Never Dull and a five-foot Tony Award cake hauled in by staff.

As the night faded into morning, the party moved to John Gore’s Presidential Suite, where Nicholas Christopher played piano and Adrienne Warren sang while guests were served omelets at sunrise.
