Man in Serious Condition After Falls Road Assault

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after an assault on the Falls Road in the early hours of Sunday, June 7, 2026.
Police said they received a report at about 2.15am of a man with a head injury whose wounds were consistent with an assault. Officers, together with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, attended the scene and the injured man was taken to hospital for treatment. His condition is currently described as serious.
A 33-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains in custody as police continue their investigation.
Enquiries are ongoing, and police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about what happened to come forward. They are particularly asking for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have CCTV, dashcam footage, mobile phone video or any other material that could help the inquiry to contact officers.
