Kaia Gerber Stuns in a Sleek Cutout Leather Bodice

Kaia Gerber continued her run of sleek, minimalist fashion with a darker, sharper look at the Snap Inc.-sponsored launch of artist JR’s takeover of the Pont Neuf bridge in Paris. Wearing Alaïa, Gerber chose a draped brown jersey skirt paired with a strapless black leather bodice. The outfit blended soft and structured elements, while small paneled cutouts running down the center of the bustier-style top added a subtle sultry detail.
Gerber kept the styling understated to let the outfit stand out. She wore her hair in a tousled, effortless style and opted for a French-tipped pedicure. Her makeup included a muted rose-pink lip, a shade that has become increasingly popular in recent beauty launches across major brands such as Charlotte Tilbury, Hourglass Cosmetics, bareMinerals and Bobbi Brown. She completed the look with black leather open-toed mules featuring stiletto heels and slim curved straps, creating a clean base that matched the outfit’s darker tones.
The shoes were also familiar to Gerber, who wore a similar pair earlier in the spring while promoting her upcoming role in FX’s The Shards during the Disney Upfronts in New York City. That appearance reflected the same preference for polished, minimal styling that has defined much of her recent wardrobe.
This latest Alaïa ensemble marked another evolution in Gerber’s fashion direction. Over the course of the year, she has leaned into a darker neutral palette on red carpets, wearing lace dresses and crop top sets from designers including Givenchy and Jacquemus. At the same time, her off-duty style has continued to nod to her California roots through classic white pieces and blue denim, echoing the easygoing aesthetic associated with her mother, supermodel Cindy Crawford.
Gerber’s appearance in Paris reinforced her growing reputation for balancing simplicity with edge. The mix of leather, jersey and cutout detailing gave the look a modern, confident feel without sacrificing elegance. As the premiere of The Shards approaches this fall, Gerber is expected to continue making fashion statements that build on her current style evolution, with more darkly chic red carpet looks likely to follow.
