Kimi Antonelli secured pole position with a blistering lap of 1:12.051 in Qualifying 3, edging out Max Verstappen and delivering a standout performance for Mercedes. Verstappen, driving for Red Bull, finished second on the grid with a best Q3 time of 1:12.094, just 0.043 seconds behind Antonelli. Lewis Hamilton placed third for Ferrari with 1:12.279, while Charles Leclerc took fourth in the second Ferrari, posting 1:12.351.

The top five was completed by Red Bull-backed Isack Hadjar, who clocked 1:12.434, showing strong pace in a competitive session. Mercedes’ George Russell lined up sixth after a 1:12.445 lap, narrowly missing the top five. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris took seventh and eighth, respectively, with times of 1:12.624 and 1:12.765.

Pierre Gasly qualified ninth for Alpine with 1:13.226, and Racing Bulls driver Liam Lawson rounded out the top 10 with 1:13.412, setting the stage for a tightly packed midfield battle. Several drivers advanced through Q2 but fell short of the final shootout, including Williams pair Alexander Albon and Carlos Sainz Jnr, who qualified 11th and 12th. Nico Hulkenberg of Audi took 13th, followed by Alpine’s Franco Colapinto in 14th and Racing Bulls rookie Arvid Lindblad in 15th.

In Q1, Gabriel Bortoleto secured 16th for Audi with 1:14.683, ahead of Haas driver Esteban Ocon in 17th and Cadillac’s Sergio Perez in 18th. Oliver Bearman qualified 19th for Haas, while Cadillac’s Valtteri Bottas was 20th. Aston Martin endured a difficult session as Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll finished 21st and 22nd, respectively, with Stroll posting the slowest time of the day at 1:16.061.

Antonelli’s pole marks a major highlight in a session that saw tight margins across the front-runners and several notable names struggling for pace in the lower order. The result places Mercedes in a strong position heading into the race, while Verstappen, Ferrari, and McLaren remain firmly in contention behind the front row.
