Power: Legacy with Joseph Sikora, Michael Rainey Jr. Ordered at Starz
Starz has officially greenlit a new sequel series in the “Power” franchise titled “Power: Legacy,” with eight episodes ordered for its first season. The project brings together two of the most recognizable characters from the universe: Tommy Egan, played by Joseph Sikora, and Tariq St. Patrick, played by Michael Rainey Jr. The series will center on the reunion of the longtime characters after their separate storylines across the “Power” spinoffs.
Tommy and Tariq were originally connected through the late James “Ghost” St. Patrick, Tommy’s closest friend and Tariq’s father. After the events of the original “Power” series, the characters moved in different directions in the expanded franchise. Sikora headlined “Power Book IV: Force” for three seasons, while Rainey led “Power Book II: Ghost” for four seasons. Their paths crossed again in the “Force” finale, setting up the next phase of the story.
In “Power: Legacy,” Tommy returns to New York City and teams up with Tariq, bringing the two characters back into the same orbit for the first time in a major series setting. The reunion is expected to be a central draw for fans of the long-running crime drama, which has continued to expand its audience through multiple offshoots and character-driven stories.
Executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson said the new installment marks a major chapter for the franchise, describing it as the biggest yet. He noted that fans have long wanted to see Tommy and Tariq together again and said the pairing of Joseph Sikora and Michael Rainey Jr. makes the project especially significant for the “Power” universe. Jackson also said the characters have become iconic figures within the franchise.
The “Power” brand has remained one of Starz’s most successful scripted properties, spawning several series built around its original cast and storylines. “Power: Legacy” continues that strategy by combining two fan-favorite leads into a new narrative focused on New York power dynamics, alliances, and the fallout that follows when these two characters join forces.
The announcement adds another major chapter to the expanding “Power” universe, which has built its identity on family conflict, criminal ambition, and shifting loyalties. With Tommy back in New York and Tariq by his side, “Power: Legacy” is positioned to extend the franchise’s core themes while reuniting two of its most popular characters in a fresh storyline.
