Mary Bonnet Addresses Rumors She Was Fired From the Oppenheim Group Amid Selling Sunset Cast Shakeup

Mary Bonnet is addressing reports that she was fired from the Oppenheim Group as she exits the cast of Selling Sunset. The 45-year-old reality star, who has been on the Netflix series since season one, pushed back on claims that her departure from the show meant she had lost her role at the brokerage. Speaking to Inman News, Bonnet said she is “not fired,” stressing that she remains the Vice President at the Oppenheim Group and continues working in real estate. She also said she is still close with Jason Oppenheim, calling them best friends.

Bonnet said that nothing has changed about her professional role at the firm and that the reported exit only concerns the television series and its direction. According to her, the issue is about the vision for Selling Sunset rather than her status at the company. She explained that she wants the show to lean more into women’s empowerment and move away from what it has been.

Her comments come after reports last month suggested a major cast shakeup for the upcoming season. The reports claimed that Bonnet, Emma Hernan, Chelsea Lazkani and Sandra Vergara, who is Sofia Vergara’s sister, would not be returning. The rumored changes sparked questions about who would remain on the show and whether longtime cast members were being removed.

Before the news broke, Bonnet had already given a vague response about her future during a red carpet appearance. When asked about the season 10 cast, she said producers knew more than she did and hinted that she had limited input in the decisions. She also said that production was still trying to decide and that Netflix wanted a change-up, adding that there would be many changes.

Bonnet appeared to suggest that even the returning lineup had not been fully settled at the time. She said she did not think anyone really knew what the changes would be, and implied that more cast movement was coming. Her remarks now appear to confirm that the behind-the-scenes decisions were still being worked out when she made them.

The uncertainty around Selling Sunset has fueled speculation about the future of the series and the direction of its cast. Bonnet’s latest remarks make clear, however, that while she may be stepping away from the screen, she is not leaving the Oppenheim Group. She remains connected to the business, to Jason Oppenheim, and to the real estate work that helped define her role on the show.
