Iris Apatow and Sam Nivola Bring Gen Z Elegance to an Italian Red Carpet

Sam Nivola and Iris Apatow made a rare joint red-carpet appearance this week at the Taormina Film Festival in Italy, where both young actors arrived looking especially polished for the event’s fifth day. Nivola, who is serving as head of the student and youth juries in the festival’s “Glances of Sicily” short film competition, attended alongside Apatow in a coordinated display of understated, elegant style.

Apatow wore a flowing Dôen dress in a soft pale yellow shade, decorated with an allover green paisley print. The design featured tied shoulder straps and an adjustable waist tie, finished with subtle green and brown trim that added depth without overpowering the look. She paired the dress with glossy dark blue patent leather ballet flats, which were accented with slim bows and gave the outfit a delicate, feminine touch.

Nivola opted for a sharp Dior ensemble that balanced structure and ease. His outfit included a cropped black blazer, high-waisted trousers, and a crisp white button-down shirt. He completed the look with smooth black leather loafers and a worn brown Dior belt with a silver “CD” buckle, bringing a refined but slightly relaxed finish to the formal styling.

Together, the couple presented one of the evening’s most polished red-carpet moments. Their looks leaned toward clean silhouettes, soft tonal contrasts, and classic tailoring, giving both outfits a mature and timeless quality that fit the cinema-focused atmosphere of the festival. Rather than choosing flashy or overly trendy pieces, Nivola and Apatow embraced a more composed aesthetic that highlighted their personal style in a subtle way.

The appearance also marked another public moment for the pair, who have been dating since 2024. Recently, the couple reportedly took a new step in their relationship by moving in together in New York City’s East Village. Apatow spoke about the transition in an interview with Nylon in April, describing both her excitement and the adjustment of leaving Los Angeles for a new city. She said she was happy to move in with her boyfriend, while also admitting that the move came with some initial confusion as she learned to navigate life in New York, including the subway system.

Their Taormina outing underscored how the couple continues to attract attention both for their relationship and their fashion choices. With Nivola’s tailored Dior look and Apatow’s softly patterned Dôen dress, the pair delivered a red-carpet moment that felt coordinated, elegant, and distinctly in step with the sophistication of the festival setting.
