Foreign investors withdrew R$448.8 million from B3-listed stocks in the trading session of June 5, as the Ibovespa fell 0.77%. The selling deepened the month’s negative balance for this investor group, which now stands at R$1.8 billion in June. Despite the setback, foreign investors still hold a positive net balance of R$39.7 billion for the year.
Institutional investors also recorded outflows on the day, with net withdrawals totaling R$773.4 million. For June so far, however, this category remains in positive territory with a net inflow of R$1.2 billion. Year to date, institutional investors are still in negative territory, with an accumulated outflow of R$35.1 billion.
Individual investors moved in the opposite direction, adding R$313.3 million to the market in the same session. That brought the group’s June balance to a positive R$1.1 billion. For the year, individual investors have accumulated a net surplus of R$1 billion.
The figures were released by B3 and reflect investor behavior during a day of weaker market performance. The trading session highlighted a contrast between foreign and institutional selling pressure and continued participation from retail investors, even as the Ibovespa ended lower.
