Caitlin Clark’s Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Coconut Milk” Releases on June 2

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark is off to a strong start in the 2026 WNBA season, drawing attention not only for her on-court performances but also for her growing lineup of Nike Kobe player-exclusive sneakers. In the opening games of the season, Clark has continued to showcase multiple exclusive colorways, reinforcing her status as one of the most closely watched athletes in the league. Among the most anticipated pairs is the Caitlin Clark x Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Coconut Milk and Bright Spruce,” a shoe she first previewed in March before debuting it in a game against the Los Angeles Sparks.
The sneaker is scheduled to release at 10:00 a.m. ET on Tuesday, June 2, with a retail price of $190 in adult sizes. It will be available through the Nike SNKRS app and Foot Locker. Given the popularity of Clark’s Nike Kobe releases, the shoe is expected to sell out quickly. Fans who miss the initial launch may still be able to find pairs on resale platforms such as StockX and GOAT, where the model has already been listed at an average resale price of about $389 on StockX.
The “Coconut Milk and Bright Spruce” colorway draws inspiration from the board game Scrabble, adding a playful theme to the design. The shoe features a Coconut Milk upper with Bright Spruce accents, while the ankle collar is finished in Midnight Spruce. Additional details include the Kobe sheath logo on the tongues in University Red and White. Although Clark’s signature logo does not appear on the shoe, the color palette and overall presentation clearly tie the release to her personal style and branding.
The Nike Kobe 5 Protro itself has a strong basketball legacy. Kobe Bryant originally debuted the fifth model in his signature line on Christmas Day in 2009, and it became associated with the Los Angeles Lakers’ championship run during that era. The Protro version later arrived with performance updates designed for modern play, including a synthetic leather upper, early Nike Flywire support, a responsive Air Zoom unit underfoot, and a scaled-down traction pattern on the rubber outsole for improved court feel.
Clark’s connection to the Kobe line dates back to her college days at Iowa, where she wore the Nike Kobe 5 Protro more than any other basketball shoe. Since then, she has received multiple player-exclusive designs and helped bring several colorways to market. Previous releases in her line include the “Fever” and “Rookie of the Year” editions of the Nike Kobe 5 Protro, along with the Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Light Armory Blue,” which also saw a limited release.
With the WNBA season now underway, Clark and Nike are expected to continue generating major interest both on the court and in the sneaker market. Fans are also awaiting more information about her first signature shoe, reportedly called the Nike Caitlin 1, which is expected to launch later this summer.
