“Anne Roumanoff changed several parts of her body, but the result did not have the expected effect”

Anne Roumanoff spoke candidly about her relationship with her body and cosmetic surgery during a recent appearance on RTL’s “Les Grosses Têtes,” where she recalled an unsuccessful procedure performed during the Covid-19 lockdown. The comedian, who is set to appear on France 3’s “Vivement Dimanche” on Sunday, June 14, said she had undergone liposuction in hopes of reshaping her figure, but described the experience as painful and disappointing.

Roumanoff said the operation did not deliver the results she expected. Instead of feeling better about her body, she explained that she later gained weight because she felt weak after the procedure and ended up eating more. She also revealed that she had attempted to reduce a double chin, but said a small part of it remained, which still bothers her. Her comments reflected her usual direct and self-deprecating style, as she joked that the effects of the surgery were barely visible and looked “very natural.”

During the same program, Sylvie Tellier also shared her own experience with aesthetic treatments. The former Miss France executive said she had tried medical aesthetic injections once to correct an uneven eyebrow, but the result left her with a severe headache. Her testimony echoed Roumanoff’s in showing that cosmetic procedures do not always bring the expected satisfaction.

Tellier also used the discussion to criticize the growing normalization of cosmetic surgery, especially among teenagers. She expressed concern about the influence of American culture, where some young girls receive cosmetic procedures as gifts for turning sixteen, and said she regrets seeing that trend begin to appear in France.

Together, the two women’s remarks offered a frank look at the physical and emotional realities of cosmetic procedures, highlighting both the pain involved and the gap that can exist between expectation and outcome. Their comments also raised broader questions about beauty standards, body image, and the increasing pressure on women to alter their appearance.
