Larsa Pippen’s Advice to Son Preston Before His New Show

Preston Pippen, the son of NBA legend Scottie Pippen and former Real Housewives of Miami star Larsa Pippen, is stepping into the reality TV spotlight on Netflix’s new series Calabasas Confidential. In the show, Preston opens up about what it is like growing up with famous parents and living much of his life in front of cameras. He said his mother encouraged him to remain authentic while filming and warned him that people can act differently once cameras are rolling. Preston said Larsa advised him not to trust everyone on set, even if they seem friendly away from the spotlight.
Preston also discussed the emotional challenges of revisiting his family’s past on television. His parents separated in 2018 and finalized their divorce in 2021, and the series touches on that difficult period. Preston said he understood what he was signing up for when he joined the show, though he admitted he had to think seriously about whether it was worth reopening painful chapters from his life. Ultimately, he said he felt ready to handle it and described himself as “a big boy now.”
One of the more personal subjects Preston addressed was the public attention surrounding rumors about his mother’s alleged relationship with rapper Future. Preston said classmates used to tease him about the headlines, making school feel like an extension of the drama at home. He recalled friends joking about the situation and playing music connected to the rumors, which made an already stressful period even harder. Larsa later addressed the speculation herself, saying the relationship had been more respectful than people assumed and insisting it was not the cheating scandal many had made it out to be.
The series also features other Bravo personalities sharing unusually candid family moments. In one episode, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Brandi Glanville talks openly with her son, Mason Cibrian, about his sex life. She praised his girlfriend and then recalled the moment she realized he was no longer a virgin, saying she overheard a sound from his room and immediately understood what had happened. Glanville described feeling uncomfortable and emotional but joked about the situation in a lighthearted way.
Another reality TV veteran, Kandi Burruss, is also featured advising her daughter Riley Burruss on Bravo’s Next Gen NYC. Kandi urged Riley to be honest, stay true to herself, and stand by anything she says on camera. She joked about not wanting producers to replay old clips to catch cast members contradicting themselves, but made clear that being authentic matters most.
Together, the stories highlight how reality TV parents are guiding their children through fame, scrutiny, and the pressures of appearing on camera while also revealing deeply personal family moments to viewers.
