Taylor Swift Skipped Rhode Island Wedding, Senator Says

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s upcoming wedding is drawing attention, but the reported Rhode Island venue may not be confirmed. Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse said he does not know whether the couple plans to marry in the state, despite rumors that the ceremony could take place there later this month. Whitehouse said he would be happy to welcome Swift to Rhode Island, but suggested the state may not have been chosen after all.
Reports have said the wedding could happen on June 13 at Swift’s Rhode Island estate, a date that carries special meaning for the singer because she has long considered 13 her lucky number. Swift and Kelce, both 36, got engaged in August 2025 and have reportedly been planning a celebration that balances privacy with a relaxed atmosphere. Sources previously said the couple has been focused on enjoying the process rather than getting overwhelmed by the pressure of organizing a major celebrity wedding.
According to earlier reports, the wedding festivities may be split between Swift’s $18 million Rhode Island mansion and Ocean House, a luxury seaside resort nearby. Insiders said the guest list has grown, leading the couple to consider using multiple locations for the ceremony and private events. Another source said Swift always keeps backup plans in place and that Rhode Island remains appealing because the area would be private and heavily guarded.
Swift and Kelce have not publicly confirmed details about the wedding, but speculation has been fueled by comments from people in their circle. San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle said he is looking forward to the event and joked that Kelce will likely be well prepared with drinks for guests. Kittle referenced Christian McCaffrey and Olivia Culpo’s June 2024 wedding, where he said the beer supply ran low and he had to help provide more.
Singer and actress Suki Waterhouse also said she plans to attend Swift’s wedding. Waterhouse, who has known Swift for years and opened for the Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium in London, said she would go to the celebration and might draw inspiration from Swift for her own future wedding to actor Robert Pattinson. Waterhouse and Pattinson have been together since 2018 and share one child.
With the wedding date approaching, attention remains focused on where Swift and Kelce will actually marry and how they will organize what is expected to be one of the most high-profile celebrity events of the year. The couple has kept their plans private, but the mixture of rumors, public hints and insider reports has intensified interest in the ceremony and possible guest list.
