Kitchener and Everett Battle for Memorial Cup Title on TSN
The 2025-26 Memorial Cup reaches its final stage on Sunday, with the Ontario Hockey League champion Kitchener Rangers facing the Western Hockey League champion Everett Silvertips for junior hockey’s top national title. The championship game is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on TSN1/3/4, TSN.ca and the TSN App.
Kitchener earned a direct berth into the final after sweeping the round-robin portion of the tournament with a 3-0 record. The Rangers previously defeated Everett 6-2 on Monday in a game that saw them erase an early deficit and pull away with four unanswered goals. Kitchener then clinched its place in the final with a 3-2 win over the Chicoutimi Saguenéens on Tuesday.
The Rangers’ path to the final came with both momentum and concern. Forward Christian Humphreys left the game against Chicoutimi after a dangerous play that resulted in a five-minute major and game misconduct for Saguenéens defenseman Jordan Tourigny, who was later suspended for the remainder of the tournament. Humphreys is expected to play in Sunday’s final. He has been an important contributor for Kitchener throughout the season and in the tournament.
Offensively, Jack Pridham has led the Rangers at the Memorial Cup with four goals and six points in three games. Sam O’Reilly, one of the team’s late-season additions, has also produced well, while goaltender Christian Kirsch has been outstanding. Kirsch has posted a 1.33 goals-against average and a .957 save percentage in the tournament, including a 40-save effort against Everett. Kitchener is appearing in the Memorial Cup final for a record seventh time and is seeking its third national championship after previous titles in 1982 and 2003.
Everett reached the final after responding to its loss against Kitchener with a 6-1 semifinal victory over Chicoutimi on Friday. The Silvertips opened the semifinal with a traded pair of goals before taking control by scoring five unanswered times. Defenseman Landon DuPont stood out with two goals, while Julius Miettinen also scored and rookie Matias Vanhanen added two assists. Vanhanen leads the tournament in scoring with three goals and seven points.
Goaltender Anders Miller has also been key to Everett’s success, helping backstop the club to its first WHL title and a spot in its first Memorial Cup final. The Silvertips are looking for their first national championship in franchise history.
Sunday’s final sets up a rematch between two teams that already know each other well, with Kitchener carrying perfect tournament form and Everett looking to respond after advancing through the semifinal route.
