Blue Tigers Set for Two Friendlies Against Tajikistan During June FIFA Window
The Indian men’s national football team will play two friendly matches against Tajikistan on June 5 and June 9, 2026, in Hisor, Tajikistan, during the FIFA International Match Window. Both matches will be held at Hisor Central Stadium and will kick off at 8:30 pm IST.
The Blue Tigers are currently in London, where they are competing in the Unity Cup 2026. India are set to face Jamaica in the semi-final on Wednesday, May 27, before taking on either Nigeria or Zimbabwe in the third-place playoff or the final on Saturday, May 30. After completing their campaign in London, the team will depart for Tajikistan on May 31.
The upcoming fixtures will give India another chance to test themselves against Tajikistan at a venue where they enjoyed success earlier this year. Just eight months ago, India won the bronze medal at the CAFA Nations Cup at the same stadium. During that tournament, the Blue Tigers defeated Tajikistan 2-1 on their way to a podium finish in their debut appearance at the Central Asian regional competition. That match was also the first game in charge for head coach Khalid Jamil.
The two June friendlies are part of India’s international calendar and will provide valuable match practice ahead of future competitive assignments. Playing back-to-back games against Tajikistan in the same setting offers continuity for the squad and an opportunity to build on previous positive memories at the ground.
India’s schedule for the FIFA Men’s International Match Window in June 2026 is now confirmed as follows: June 5, Tajikistan vs India, 20:30 IST; June 9, Tajikistan vs India, 20:30 IST. Both matches will be played at Hisor Central Stadium, Hisor, Tajikistan.
The fixtures come as the national side continues its preparations in an active international period, with the Unity Cup in London preceding the Tajikistan trip. The back-to-back games should help the coaching staff assess the squad’s condition, combinations, and tactical options while keeping the team in competitive rhythm.
India’s previous result against Tajikistan at the same venue will add an extra layer of familiarity and confidence heading into the friendlies. The Blue Tigers will now aim to use the June window effectively as they transition from the Unity Cup in London to the two-match series in Central Asia.
