Nico Collins Agrees to Revised Contract, Secures $17 Million in New Money
Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins has secured a revised contract that strengthens his long-term future in Houston and keeps him under team control for at least the next two seasons. According to his agents Drew and Jason Rosenhaus, Collins has agreed to an adjusted deal with the Texans that increases his compensation in both 2026 and 2027 and adds full guarantees to those salaries.
Under the new structure, Collins will receive a $9 million raise in 2026 and an $8 million increase in 2027. Both seasons are now fully guaranteed, giving the receiver added financial security and making it more likely he remains a central part of Houston’s offense through the remainder of his current contract window. The adjustment boosts Collins’s earnings to $29 million in 2026 and $29.2 million in 2027, placing him higher among the NFL’s top-paid wide receivers on an annual average basis.
The agreement comes after Collins recently said he hoped to spend his entire career with the Texans, a statement that reflected both his comfort in Houston and his importance to the team’s future plans. Texans general manager Nick Caserio made it clear earlier this offseason that the organization had no interest in trading Collins, signaling that the franchise views him as a core player rather than a trade asset.
Collins has developed into one of the Texans’ most valuable offensive weapons and has become a key target in the passing game. His production and role have made him a foundational piece for a team looking to build sustained success around its young core. The revised contract underscores that commitment and reduces uncertainty about his status for the near term.
With the new deal in place, Collins is now positioned to remain in Houston through at least 2027, with free agency not becoming a realistic possibility until 2028. That timeline gives the Texans stability at a premium position and allows Collins to continue building his career with the same franchise that has invested heavily in him.
The contract update also reflects the broader market value of top wide receivers in today’s NFL, where elite pass catchers continue to command large guarantees and rising annual salaries. For Houston, the move ensures that one of its most important offensive players is compensated in line with his value while keeping him firmly tied to the roster.
For Collins, the agreement matches both his public desire to stay and the team’s intention to keep him. For the Texans, it removes a potential distraction and reinforces their belief that Collins will remain a major part of their plans for years to come.
