7 Kg Gold, 1 Kg Silver Worth ₹12 Crore Stolen: Husband, Wife, and Sister-in-Law Caught Fleeing; Nepali Servants’ Role Revealed

Police in Rampur and Telangana have arrested a husband, wife and the wife’s sister who were allegedly fleeing to Nepal after stealing valuables from a wealthy household in Telangana. The accused, identified as Kamal, his wife Vimala and her sister Kalpana, had reportedly worked as domestic helpers in a house in the Gachibowli area of Cyberabad Commissionerate before carrying out the theft.

According to the report, the trio first entered the home as ordinary workers and gradually gained the trust of the family. Over time, they learned the household routine, the family’s movements and the timing of their comings and goings. Police say this familiarity helped them plan the crime. The theft allegedly took place when the homeowners had left with their family, leaving the house empty and the three suspects inside.

The stolen property included about 7 kilograms of gold, 1 kilogram of silver and cash, with the total value estimated at around Rs 12 crore. The incident caused a major shock to the family, as the people they had trusted inside their home were accused of betraying that confidence and stealing high-value valuables.

After the theft, the three suspects disappeared and began moving toward Nepal. Telangana police registered a case and launched an investigation. Because the accused had been living and working in the house, the case required detailed coordination and tracking. During the probe, investigators gathered clues that eventually pointed toward Rampur in Uttar Pradesh.

Telangana police then contacted the Superintendent of Police in Rampur and shared the available inputs. A joint operation was launched by police teams from both states, and checking was intensified along possible escape routes. During one such check in Rampur, police intercepted the suspects and successfully arrested all three.

Police recovered around 7 kilograms of gold, 1 kilogram of silver and nearly Rs 25,000 in cash from their possession. Officials said the recovered items were part of the property stolen from the Gachibowli residence where the trio had been employed. The arrests marked a significant breakthrough in the case, which had begun as a domestic theft but later turned into a cross-state manhunt.

Rampur Superintendent of Police Somendra Meena said the action was carried out through a coordinated effort between Telangana police and Rampur police. He stated that the Gachibowli case details were continuously shared between the two teams, which helped lead to the arrests during the checking operation.

Police are now investigating whether the accused had any accomplices or wider criminal links. Authorities also plan to contact Nepal police to verify whether the suspects have any criminal history across the border. The case remains under further investigation.
