Trace Cyrus Slams Sister Brandi Over “Mold-Infested” Rental, Calls Family Treatment “Absolutely Disgusting”

Trace Cyrus has accused his sister Brandi Cyrus of renting him a home he described as mold-infested and full of other serious problems, in a series of Instagram Stories posted Friday and Saturday. The 37-year-old musician said he had been trying to stay calm, but claimed the housing situation became unbearable after moving in. He alleged the property had mold, delayed access to clean water, and left him sleeping on an air mattress downstairs while he struggled with the disruption to his plans to release new music this summer.

In the videos, Trace said he had “clean water” only recently and claimed the living conditions forced him to postpone his album and other music projects because he now has to move again. He also accused Brandi of refusing to refund his money, which appeared to be one of the main sources of his anger. Trace said he felt mistreated by his family and described the situation as “disgusting,” using harsh language to express frustration with how he says he has been treated by relatives.

He later posted another video insisting Brandi should speak to him directly instead of having other people communicate on her behalf. He said he was no longer interested in being polite and warned that if the matter was not handled properly, it could become a very public dispute. Trace emphasized that he would not allow family or friends to “f**k” him over anymore and suggested there would be consequences if Brandi did not address the issue.

In a further follow-up, Trace said he had calmed down after spending time in a sauna and meditating. He then made a reference to his late grandmother, saying he wanted to be sure she was looking down on the situation and aware of Brandi’s actions. He added that this made him feel better, though the comment intensified the personal nature of the feud.

By Saturday, Trace said he still loved Brandi but no longer respected her. He also claimed their relationship was permanently damaged and said he believed she was “not a good person.” The remarks suggest the family conflict has escalated beyond a simple housing dispute into another highly public Cyrus family rift.

This is not the first time Trace Cyrus has criticized members of his famous family online. He has previously gone after his father, Billy Ray Cyrus, and brother, Braison Cyrus, making allegations about substance use and even claiming his father threatened legal action during an earlier feud. The latest conflict with Brandi adds another chapter to the long-running public tensions within the Cyrus family.

As of now, Brandi Cyrus has not publicly responded to Trace’s allegations.
