Joseph Duggar Scandal: Every Duggar Family Member Who Has Spoken Out

Amy Duggar King has responded angrily to the allegations involving her cousin Joseph, saying she is “sickened, heartbroken, and deeply angry” and that her first concern is for the victim. In an Instagram video posted on March 20, she said the child “deserved to be safe, protected, and surrounded by people she could trust,” and praised the courage it took to speak out after years of carrying such a burden.

King said she was “utterly shocked” by Joseph’s arrest but added that she was not surprised another alleged predator had emerged from what she called a “toxic system.” She widened her remarks by referencing her years of speaking publicly about truth, accountability, and child protection, even when doing so meant challenging her own family. According to King, family ties should never automatically create trust or access, especially when children’s safety is at stake.

She also said that protecting an image instead of confronting abuse can allow harmful behavior to continue. In her view, silence in place of accountability creates conditions where abuse can thrive. Her comments reflect a broader criticism of systems that prioritize reputation over responsibility, and she framed the situation as one that demands honesty and justice rather than denial or damage control.

King ended her message by saying she is praying for the victim and the victim’s family as they face what she described as an incredibly difficult road ahead. While noting that the full picture is not yet known, she also said she is praying for Joseph’s wife, Kendra, as she processes the news, and for the protection of their children. She added that she hopes eyes will be opened and that justice will be served to the fullest.

Her statement comes amid renewed attention on the family and its public image, with King positioning herself once again as a vocal critic of secrecy and what she sees as a pattern of enabling harmful behavior. The remarks underscore the emotional and legal fallout surrounding the allegations, while centering the victim and the need for accountability.
