The Boys Officially Brings Starlight and Homelander Back for a New Chapter

Fans of The Boys are entering a new phase of the franchise after the Prime Video series wrapped up its fifth and final season. Since its debut in 2019, the show has grown from a relatively under-the-radar release into one of the streamer’s biggest hits, helped by a release strategy that shifted from a full-season drop for Season 1 to a weekly rollout for later seasons. That format, often paired with an initial multi-episode premiere, helped sustain conversation and build anticipation around each new chapter.

Even though the main series has ended, the universe is far from finished. Prime Video quickly followed the finale with the first trailer for Vought Rising, a new spin-off starring Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash. The project is already confirmed for 2027, and production has reportedly been completed, suggesting the release could arrive earlier than expected. The new series is expected to expand the world of Vought and continue the franchise’s mix of satire, violence, and superpowered chaos.

The The Boys brand is also moving beyond television and into gaming. Call of Duty: Mobile has announced a major crossover tied to the launch of Season 5, bringing two new themed game modes and more than a dozen rewards inspired by the series. The collaboration includes character-themed content featuring Homelander, Starlight, and Black Noir, along with new cosmetics and special COD Point offers to mark the start of the season. The update is now live, giving players a chance to engage with the franchise in a new format.

The article also notes that the wider universe has experienced some changes. Around the same time the main series returned for its final season, news surfaced that Gen V, the first The Boys spin-off, had been canceled after two seasons. Creator Eric Kripke later said he still had plans for those characters, but not in a separate show. Fans had expected the Gen V cast to play a bigger role in the final season of The Boys, but with Vought Rising set in an earlier time period, the future of those characters in the franchise remains unclear.

For viewers who want to revisit the series, all seasons of The Boys remain available on Prime Video. With the main storyline concluded, the franchise is now shifting toward spin-offs, crossovers, and expansion into other entertainment platforms, keeping the world of The Boys active even after its flagship show has ended.
