Radio DJ Hazelle Teo Marries Musician James Wong, Gets Haircut Mid-Ceremony
Singapore radio DJ Hazelle Teo and local pianist James Wong were married on June 6 at JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach, before departing for their honeymoon on Ethiopian Airlines. The couple shared the news in a joint Instagram post, writing that their families had grown by one son and one daughter and calling the day filled with love and gratitude. Teo, 32, wore a gown from bridal shop House Of Ivory, while Wong, 25, wore a suit from Made Suits.
The wedding included a musical performance by Wong, who played a Yamaha keyboard and opened with Teo’s debut single, Sing A Long Dance A Long, released in 2024. He then moved into Taylor Swift’s Love Story, the song that brought the couple together and inspired their collaboration in 2024. Teo, who is also a host and content creator, walked down the aisle to the same track before the pair kissed on stage. In a playful moment, Wong later placed a hand on Teo’s stomach and joked that they were “expecting” guests to have a fun night.
The ceremony drew several familiar faces from Singapore’s entertainment scene. Among those present were Teo’s fellow Yes 933 DJs Tan Ting Fong, Zhong Kun Hua, Zhu Zeliang, Chen Qijia, Gao Mei Gui, Lim Pin Juen and Jeff Goh, along with local actors Glenn Yong, Hong Huifang and Zheng Geping.
One of the most eye-catching moments came during an outfit change, when Teo surprised guests by cutting her waist-length hair to just past her shoulders and reappearing in a plum-coloured cheongsam. Wong matched her look in a plum suit with a black bow tie, and the couple danced to Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic. Teo later said she was nervous at first but felt the final result was worth it, while Wong said he loved the look and thought she appeared especially attractive with shorter hair.
Teo and Wong announced their engagement in 2025 and have been sharing their wedding journey through the reality series From Yes To I Do, available on mewatch. The final episode of the four-part series is scheduled to air on June 9 at 8pm on Channel 8. The couple also co-host The Couple’s Classroom, a weekly mewatch podcast about the realities of modern relationships. They recorded an episode at 5am shortly before their wedding, with Wong describing Teo as a perfectionist who handles the details while he stays relaxed, crediting her hard work for making that calm possible.
