Olivia Rodrigo’s Third Album: Release Date, Tracklist and Latest Updates

Olivia Rodrigo is stepping into a new era with her third studio album, ending months of fan speculation about “OR3.” After the success of her first two albums, SOUR and GUTS, and the conclusion of her GUTS World Tour in 2025, Rodrigo began teasing fresh music in late 2025 and formally launched the next chapter in 2026.
Signs of a new album appeared early. In August 2025, Rodrigo hinted at a new phase during the final festival stop of her tour in Montreal, where she wore a red shirt marked with a rhinestone “3.” A few days later, she added fuel to the rumors with a newsletter reference to “y3t to come.” By October 2025, she confirmed in an American Express promo video that she was working on her next album, saying she was home and focused on new music.
In April 2026, Rodrigo officially announced that her third album would arrive on June 12, 2026. She also introduced the era with a lead single titled “Drop Dead,” released on April 17, 2026. The rollout continued in May with another new song, “The Cure,” which came with a music video. The upcoming record has since been revealed to carry the title you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, reflecting the emotional tone Rodrigo has hinted at in interviews.
Rodrigo has described the album as centered on “sad love songs,” saying she was inspired by romantic tracks that blend beauty with fear and yearning. Around the same period, longtime producer Dan Nigro shared a studio photo with Rodrigo on Instagram in February 2026, captioning it “Finishing records…,” signaling that the project was close to completion. She also skipped the 2026 Grammy Awards, reportedly because she had not released music within the eligibility window.
The tracklist has been divided into two sections: “Girl So in Love” and “You Seem Pretty Sad.” Songs listed include “Drop Dead,” “Stupid Song,” “Honey bee,” “Maggots for Brains,” “U + Me = <3,” “My Way,” “Purple,” “The Cure,” “Begged,” “What’s Wrong With Me,” “Less,” “Expectations,” and “Cigarette Smoke.” The dual structure suggests a concept-driven album with contrasting emotional perspectives. Rodrigo’s last studio album, GUTS, was released on September 8, 2023, and the era continued through 2024 and 2025 with the deluxe edition GUTS (Spilled) and the global tour that followed. As anticipation builds for June 12, 2026, fans are watching closely to see how her newest music reflects her growth as an artist and the next stage of her career.
