Noah Wyle’s The Pitt Co-Star Sepideh Moafi Responds to Rivalry Rumors

Sepideh Moafi has dismissed rumors that she is feuding with her “The Pitt” co-star Noah Wyle, saying the two have a strong and friendly working relationship. In an interview with Variety published Wednesday, the actress said they are “really great colleagues” and that their dynamic on set has been positive from the start. She said the atmosphere between them helped her feel comfortable doing the more intense material in a recent episode and added that they would laugh and talk between scenes. Moafi called claims of a personal rivalry or conflict “completely false,” joking that if there were any issue, “at least not that I’m aware of,” and suggesting viewers could ask Wyle directly.

Moafi joined the HBO Max medical drama in Season 2 as Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi, the new attending physician who arrives to replace Wyle’s Dr. Robby before his sabbatical. Recent online theories suggested that her character’s storyline might reflect a real-life dispute between the actors, but Moafi rejected that idea outright, saying she does not have the power to shape the show that way. She also confirmed that she will return for Season 3, though she does not yet know how large her role will be. Moafi said nothing has been made clear to her about the number of episodes or the direction of the story, but she is “coming back.”

The comments come amid ongoing cast changes on “The Pitt,” which has already seen several departures during its first two seasons. Tracy Ifeachor, who played Dr. Heather Collins, left after Season 1, and Supriya Ganesh was reported in April not to be returning as Dr. Samira Mohan for Season 3. Wyle, who also serves as an executive producer, has said more changes are likely because the show’s emergency-room setting naturally involves turnover among staff. He noted that the writers must balance the passage of time with keeping the ensemble realistic, while also introducing new characters or promoting existing ones to keep the drama fresh. “The Pitt” Season 3 is expected to premiere in January 2027.
