Max Thieriot and Sheriff Country Star Share Funny Behind-the-Scenes Video, Proving They Need More Scenes Together
Actors are returning to set for upcoming seasons, and that has already led to playful behind-the-scenes moments from the Fire Country and Sheriff Country universe. A new Instagram video from Matt Lauria, who plays Boone, shows him walking around the set before reacting with surprise when he spots Max Thieriot, the star of Fire Country and Sheriff Country’s sibling series. The clip quickly caught fans’ attention because it highlights the off-screen chemistry between the two actors and teases the kind of fun dynamic viewers have already seen on screen.
The unexpected partnership between Bode and Boone was one of the most talked-about parts of the recent crossover. While the storyline involved missing students, the threat of being buried alive, and plenty of family tension, the back-and-forth between Thieriot and Lauria stood out as a fan favorite. Their banter gave Bode a more playful edge and made the scenes feel more entertaining, even amid the heavier drama. The new BTS video suggests that their chemistry is just as strong behind the camera as it is in the episodes.
Lauria captioned the video with a joke celebrating the return of “BOODE,” a playful spelling and pronunciation fans have latched onto. In the clip, Thieriot instantly slips back into the character’s attitude, joking, “Oh, no! Not this guy!” Lauria’s post and Thieriot’s enthusiastic reply, “LFG!,” helped fuel even more excitement among viewers. Fans quickly flooded the comments, with many asking for more Boone-and-Bode content and hoping the two characters will share additional scenes when the shows return.
That possibility may not be far-fetched. Fire Country is heading into a shortened season, and the reduced episode count has led to speculation about how the story will be structured. Some fans believe a time jump may be coming in season five, but Thieriot has suggested the next chapter may pick up soon after where the previous one ended. On the Sheriff Country side, the season one finale left several major questions unanswered, building anticipation for season two and leaving room for more crossover storytelling.
Showrunner Matt Lopez has also hinted that the series could make use of shared characters now that the actors are available. That has fueled hopes that Bode may continue popping up in Edgewater, where his presence could create more conflict, humor, and crossover energy with Boone. For many viewers, that growing relationship has become one of the most entertaining parts of the Fire Country franchise.
The franchise itself appears to be expanding even further. In addition to talk of a possible Jared Padalecki spin-off, the network is also reportedly exploring a medical spin-off, raising comparisons to a CBS version of One Chicago. For now, though, fans seem most excited about the chance to see Bode and Boone reunite on screen and bring more laughs to the franchise when the next seasons arrive.
