Jon Stewart Criticizes Josh Hokit Over Michelle Obama Comment at UFC 250
On Monday night’s episode of The Daily Show, Jon Stewart criticized fighter Josh Hokit after Hokit said Michelle Obama was a man during a post-fight interview at Sunday night’s UFC Freedom 250 event on the White House lawn. After airing the clip, Stewart called Hokit “a fucking asshole” and mocked the fighter’s future prospects in entertainment.
Stewart also targeted conservative media figures for praising the UFC event while condemning celebrations in New York after the Knicks won the NBA title. He played several Newsmax clips featuring anchors expressing enthusiasm for the White House-hosted fight card, then contrasted that reaction with conservative criticism of the Knicks’ victory celebrations.
Using his trademark satirical style, Stewart described the event as a spectacle that turned the White House into a “gold-plated pummeling center” and criticized what he called a degrading display that diminished both combat sports and national dignity. He questioned who broadcast the event and later revealed, through a CBS News clip, that Paramount, the parent company of Comedy Central, carried the program.
Stewart then mocked the corporate relationship with a fake expression of gratitude, joking that Paramount+ continues to deliver “incredible content at a reasonable price” and joking about the company’s decisions around show cancellations and programming. The monologue blended political criticism, media satire, and pointed commentary on the spectacle of the UFC event being staged at the White House.
