Christian Wallace to Adapt George Washington’s Secret Six for Film
Brian Kilmeade and Don Yaeger’s bestselling book George Washington’s Secret Six: The Spy Ring That Saved the American Revolution is being adapted into a feature film, with Landman co-creator Christian Wallace set to write the screenplay. The project will tell the story of the Culper Spy Ring, the covert intelligence network organized by George Washington during the Revolutionary War that helped shape the outcome of the American fight for independence.
The film is being developed as a large-scale historical espionage thriller focused on the ordinary people recruited into the secret mission. Among the figures expected to be highlighted are a reserved Quaker merchant, a tavern keeper, a bold young longshoreman, a gruff Long Island bachelor, a coffee house owner, and a mysterious female operative. Their efforts, carried out under British occupation, helped provide critical intelligence during the war and contributed to the founding of the United States.
Wallace said the timing is especially meaningful with the 250th anniversary of American independence approaching, calling the story one of quiet courage, sacrifice, and espionage. He noted that the Revolutionary War was not won only through battlefield combat, but also through the bravery of civilians who risked their lives to support the cause of independence.
Kilmeade said adapting the book has long been a personal goal and that the film will honor the men and women who played a crucial role in America’s freedom without receiving wide recognition for their service. George Washington’s Secret Six was a New York Times bestseller and has sold more than one million copies worldwide.
The production team includes John Middleton of Middleton Media; Rosanna Grace and Nicole Tabs of Serendipity Group Inc.; and Sam Moazami of Moazami Pictures. Sophie Barry will executive produce for Simple Dimple Entertainment, and Kilmeade is serving as consulting producer. The project is now preparing to search for a director and cast.
Kilmeade is represented by United Talent Agency, while Wallace is represented by Entertainment 360 and CAA.
