Chiefs Announce Coaching Staff Departure

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the departure of coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze after the completion of their two-year contracts at the end of the season. Ben Youssef joined the club at the start of the 2024/25 campaign, while Kaze arrived in October 2024. Both initially worked as assistants to former head coach Nasreddine Nabi before stepping into the senior team role after Nabi officially left the club in October 2025.
The pair took charge during a period of transition and helped improve the team’s performance across domestic and continental competitions. Under their leadership, Chiefs collected 54 points in the league, their second-best total in the past 11 years. The club also came close to advancing in the CAF Confederation Cup, missing out on the knockout phase only on goal difference after finishing Group D with 10 points.
Across the 2025/26 season, Ben Youssef and Kaze led Kaizer Chiefs in 39 matches in the Betway Premiership, CAF Confederation Cup, Carling Knockout Cup and Nedbank Cup. The team registered 19 wins, 11 draws and 9 defeats during that run, reflecting a more competitive campaign compared with previous seasons.
Conditioning coach Majdi Safi has also departed after the final match of the season, following the end of his contract. The club thanked all three members of staff for their contribution, dedication and service during their time at Naturena.
Chiefs said further announcements will be made in the coming weeks as the club prepares for the start of the new season. The departures mark the beginning of another reshuffle as the Soweto giants continue planning for the next campaign and look to build on the progress made under the outgoing technical team.
