Carli Lloyd Shows Off Baby Bump During World Cup Broadcast

Carli Lloyd is expanding her family while continuing her role as a prominent voice around the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The former U.S. women’s national team star appeared on FOX’s pregame coverage Friday ahead of the United States men’s opening match against Paraguay at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, showing off her baby bump as she joined the network’s World Cup broadcast. Lloyd, 43, announced in April that she is expecting her second child with husband Brian Hollins. The couple married in November 2016 and welcomed their first child, daughter Harper, in October 2024. In her announcement on Instagram, Lloyd said the family was “growing” and shared her gratitude and excitement about welcoming “another little miracle” into their lives.

Lloyd said the baby is due in September, but for now she remains active in the public spotlight during the tournament. On air, she wore a red-and-blue striped dress and reflected on what it means for the World Cup to return to the United States for the first time since 1994. She recalled being 12 years old when the tournament was last held on American soil and said that the 1994 event was one of the biggest sporting events she watched growing up. Lloyd said the men’s team, and later the 1999 U.S. women’s national team, inspired her and helped shape her own path in soccer.

A two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champion, Lloyd had a decorated career with the USWNT. She won the 2015 and 2019 World Cups, was named FIFA Player of the Year in 2015 and 2016, and scored gold-medal-winning goals for Team USA at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics. She also earned a bronze medal with the U.S. at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

During her pregame appearance, Lloyd spoke about the wider impact of World Cups and how major tournaments can influence future generations. She said the 1994 men’s World Cup and the 1999 women’s World Cup showed how the sport can inspire children and create lasting memories on home soil. Lloyd added that being part of that legacy is “pretty cool,” noting that World Cups can change lives and motivate new waves of players and fans.

The 2026 World Cup has brought added significance for Lloyd, both personally and professionally, as she balances family life with a continued presence in soccer coverage. Her appearance on FOX highlighted both her growing family and her deep connection to the tournament that helped define her career and continue to shape her influence in the sport.
