Prince Andrew Accused of Inappropriate Behavior Toward Woman at Royal Ascot: Report

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is facing new allegations as authorities investigate claims of inappropriate behavior involving a woman at Royal Ascot, with the reported incident believed to have taken place in 2002. According to The Sunday Times, detectives are examining the matter as part of a wider probe into alleged misconduct in public office. The former royal, who is 66, was photographed at the event with Princess Beatrice and King Charles, and the investigation is said to be connected to his years of service as a government trade envoy. Officials are reportedly speaking with key witnesses, including former cabinet ministers, royal officials, and senior civil servants, to assess a broader range of possible offenses. These alleged crimes may include sexual misconduct, corruption, and fraud, the report says. Thames Valley assistant chief constable Oliver Wright described misconduct in public office as a complex crime that can take different forms and said investigators are prepared to hear from any victim-survivor when they are ready to come forward. Andrew has previously denied inappropriate behavior allegations. Separately, he is reportedly not expected to attend the upcoming wedding of his nephew Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling. The latest claims add to continuing scrutiny surrounding the former royal and his public conduct.
