Dodgers’ Miguel Rojas Leaves Game Early Against White Sox With Injury

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Miguel Rojas exited Saturday’s June 13, 2026 game against the Chicago White Sox after being examined by the trainer during a seventh-inning at-bat. Rojas stayed in long enough to draw a walk, but he was then removed from the contest. Santiago Espinal entered as the pinch runner and also took over at second base.

Rojas has become an important part of manager Dave Roberts’ infield rotation, especially against left-handed pitching. He has also contributed as a pinch-hitter and has provided the Dodgers with steady defense and veteran leadership. On the season, Rojas is batting .260 with a .659 OPS, one home run, and 11 RBIs. His value to the club goes beyond the numbers, as he has been a stabilizing presence in the clubhouse and a reliable option at multiple infield spots.

Most of Rojas’ playing time has come at second base, though he has also filled in at shortstop when injuries and lineup changes have required it. His versatility has helped the Dodgers manage infield injuries and maintain flexibility across the roster.

If Rojas needs to miss additional time, the Dodgers appear to have several internal options. Alex Freeland could step into a more regular role, while Hyeseong Kim would be a likely call-up if Rojas were placed on the injured list. Santiago Espinal also gives Los Angeles coverage at every infield position, making him a natural short-term replacement. Tommy Edman is expected to return soon, which could ease the situation further if Rojas requires rest or misses time.

The Dodgers have benefited from strong organizational depth, and that depth may prove useful again if Rojas’ status becomes a concern. Still, his absence would be felt not only on the field but also in the dugout, where his experience and leadership have been especially valued during the 2026 season.

Dodgers fans and team officials will now await updates on Rojas’ condition following his early exit against Chicago.
