The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival Is a Streets of Rage-Style Arcade Brawler Coming Soon

A new The Walking Dead game has been announced, and it is taking the franchise in a surprising direction. Titled The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival, the game is being developed by Odaclick Game Studio and published by Trailmark Games. Rather than following the usual action-adventure or survival-horror format often associated with the zombie series, this new entry is a side-scrolling, Streets of Rage-style arcade brawler.
The reveal trailer shows a fast-paced combat system built around heavy melee attacks, signature weapon moves, and finishing blows. Players will step into the roles of some of the most recognizable characters from the series, including Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, and Michonne. They will battle through waves of walkers as well as human enemies such as the Saviors, with Negan also appearing as a major threat. The game appears to mix close-quarters combat with environmental interactions and firearms, giving it a more varied action style than a traditional beat-’em-up.
According to the announcement, the story of Streets of Survival is based on the All Out War arc from Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead comic series. That storyline is one of the most well-known conflicts in the franchise, centered on the battle between Rick’s group and Negan’s forces. The game will feature familiar settings from that arc, including Sanctuary, Hilltop, and Alexandria, which should give longtime fans plenty of recognizable locations.
The game also promises a roster of memorable bosses beyond Negan. Among those mentioned are Simon, Winslow, and the Well Walker, along with other familiar enemies from the universe. Players will be able to revisit stages and boss fights, with multiple difficulty settings and increasing challenge options designed to encourage replayability.
Streets of Survival is being positioned as a more arcade-focused experience than most past Walking Dead games. Its emphasis on combo-driven combat and larger-than-life action suggests it is aiming to capture the energy of classic brawlers while using the zombie apocalypse setting to add brutality and fan service. For fans of both The Walking Dead and retro-inspired action games, the concept could be an appealing fit.
No release date has been announced yet, but the game is listed as coming soon. It is planned for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
With The Walking Dead already spanning television, comics, and many games, Streets of Survival adds yet another take on the franchise. This time, instead of stealth or survival, the focus is on punching, kicking, slashing, and smashing through the undead in a side-scrolling fight for survival.
