YouTuber Arrested Outside Nancy Guthrie’s Home, Video Sparks Claims Police Twisted the Story
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said it arrested 54-year-old YouTuber Alexander Zabel Jr. on Thursday, June 12, 2026, after multiple complaints about his behavior outside Nancy Guthrie’s home in Pima County, Arizona. In a statement posted on X, the department said deputies responded just before 5:00 p.m. and found Zabel live-streaming at the scene. According to the sheriff’s office, deputies contacted him, and during the arrest process, a sergeant was knocked to the ground. Zabel was then taken into custody and booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex. He faces charges of resisting arrest, a Class 6 felony, and public nuisance, a Class 2 misdemeanor.
The arrest quickly drew attention online because the incident was livestreamed and because viewers disputed the sheriff’s account. Reports from KOLD and other outlets said Zabel, who runs the CriminalNetwork channel, had been broadcasting for about an hour before deputies approached him. In the stream, he appeared to be sitting by the side of the road when officers told him to stand up and informed him he was under arrest. Zabel allegedly did not immediately comply with attempts to handcuff him and repeatedly asked why he was being arrested. A struggle followed, and one deputy fell to the ground. Zabel insisted during the livestream that he had not pushed the officer, while continuing to shout at deputies and directing a homophobic slur at one of them. He said he never received a clear explanation for the arrest.
The incident is also part of a broader conflict involving several YouTubers who have been active near Guthrie’s home this week. Zabel had already been arrested earlier in the week, on Monday, along with two other content creators. That earlier case involved suspicion of obstructing a highway or thoroughfare and committing public nuisance. According to reports, Zabel was accused of setting up an outdoor “pee tent” near the property and dumping urine onto a nearby area. Court documents said the setup interfered with the community’s comfortable enjoyment of property. He was also accused of placing traffic cones on a community road during a livestream on May 26.
The other two people arrested in that earlier case were Troy Lewis “DAA Juice” Bradshaw and Damian Todd Enderle, who runs the 857 Tucson channel. Each faced one count of public nuisance. The repeated arrests have fueled a wave of criticism and support online, with many social media users accusing deputies of using excessive force or targeting the YouTubers because of their livestream coverage.
The sheriff’s department’s statement also prompted angry responses from viewers who insisted the livestream showed Zabel did not resist and that the officer fell accidentally. Others argued the arrest was unnecessary and that the public should review the video before judging the incident. The dispute has intensified an already controversial situation surrounding Guthrie’s home and the online creators who have been reporting from outside it.
The case remains active, and attention is likely to continue as more details emerge and court proceedings move forward.
