FX’s “Adults” Sets Season 2 Release Date
FX’s ensemble comedy Adults will return for Season 2 on Thursday, August 27, with the new season debuting on FXX and Hulu at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT. All eight episodes will be available at launch on FXX on-demand and Hulu, while FXX will continue rolling out two episodes each week. The series will also stream internationally on Disney+.
Created by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw, Adults follows a group of five twenty-somethings living together in Samir’s childhood home in New York as they navigate the messy realities of adulthood. The central group includes Samir, played by Malik Elassal; Billie, played by Lucy Freyer; Paul Baker, played by Jack Innanen; Issa, played by Amita Rao; and Anton, played by Owen Thiele. The series focuses on the everyday struggles of love, work, friendship and family, capturing both the humor and frustration of trying to grow up without fully knowing how.
Season 2 will continue that premise across eight episodes, with the housemates facing a new set of personal and social challenges. The show explores questions that define the early twenties, including how people compare themselves to others, how they handle disappointing jobs, why family can trigger immature behavior, and how friends often avoid direct confrontation by creating complicated workarounds instead of addressing problems honestly. At its core, the series presents adulthood as a process of repeated mistakes, awkward compromises and emotional detours, but also as something made more manageable through loyalty and support.
The new season will also include guest appearances from Susie Essman, Raven-Symoné, Gaten Matarazzo, Jake Shane, Isaac Powell, Ben Marshall, Zosia Mamet and others. Their roles add to the show’s expanding ensemble and suggest a wider mix of voices and characters in the upcoming episodes.
Kronengold and Shaw executive produce the series alongside Nick Kroll, Sarah Naftalis, Jonathan Krisel, Alicia Van Couvering and Rob Rosell. Adults is produced by FX Productions. The show continues FX’s focus on character-driven comedy built around the pressures, confusion and camaraderie of young adult life.
