Meagan Good and Ricky Bell Team Up for 15 Minutes of Fame Series
Meagan Good, known for her role in Reasonable Doubt, is set to direct and executive produce a new comedy-drama series titled 15 Minutes of Fame, with Ricky Bell of New Edition and Bell Biv DeVoe joining as executive producer. The series was created by Amy Correa Bell and Alexander Piñeiro, who also star in the project and will serve as co-directors.
Set in Los Angeles, 15 Minutes of Fame centers on Tony and Jackie, two Latino roommates who are struggling to make their way through adulthood while dealing with financial pressure and uncertainty about their future. When they learn their rent is going up, they decide to go out for a reckless night that leads to an impulsive scheme: pretending to make a movie and seeing who responds. What begins as a joke quickly grows into something more serious, eventually creating an unexpected path into Hollywood. As the story unfolds, the characters are forced to confront the thin line between fraud and opportunity, while the series explores themes of ambition, identity, friendship, and the search for purpose in an industry built on image and illusion.
Good said she was excited to bring the series to audiences at a time when representation and authentic storytelling are especially important. She described the project as meaningful work and said the collaboration with Amy Correa Bell, Alexander Piñeiro, and Ricky Bell made it even more special.
Ricky Bell said the project stands out because it tells its story through an authentic lens. He described the series as a fast-moving story about identity, family, and ambition, and said Correa Bell and Piñeiro brought their heritage and lived experiences into the show in a way that feels fresh, honest, and relatable. He added that working with longtime friend Meagan Good made the project even more meaningful, calling it the kind of storytelling that reflects the community and helps move culture forward.
The series brings together actors, musicians, and creators from multiple backgrounds in a project focused on Latino voices and the realities of chasing opportunity in Los Angeles.
