Live Traffic, Travel and Weather Updates for County Durham and the North East
County Durham and the wider North East are set for a busy day of travel monitoring, with live updates covering roadworks, traffic incidents, public transport, airport information and weather conditions across the region on June 8. The latest information includes key routes such as the A66, A19, A1(M), A1, A167 and A69, along with updates for Darlington, Bishop Auckland and Durham. At present, there are no reported road disruptions this morning, and no rail disruptions have been reported either.
The travel coverage also includes the region’s main bus and train services, with updates expected for operators including LNER, CrossCountry, TransPennine Express and Northern. Tyne and Wear Metro services, as well as the latest information from Teesside and Newcastle airports, are also being tracked as part of the morning travel bulletin.
Weather conditions across the North East are expected to change through the day. A band of rain, which could be heavy at times, is forecast to clear south-eastwards early this morning. In its place, brighter conditions and sunny spells are expected, although isolated showers may develop later and some of these could be heavy. Showers are expected to become lighter and less frequent during the afternoon, with winds also easing. Temperatures are forecast to reach around 17C.
Into the evening, the region is expected to see some sunny spells at first, before showers spread in from the north-west. These showers may again become heavy at times, with a low risk of thunder. Overnight temperatures are expected to fall to around 4C.
Road users in Darlington are advised to check for the latest closure information, as a full list of roadworks and diversions in and around the town is available online. While there are no major reported incidents this morning, motorists and commuters are being encouraged to stay alert for any developing issues throughout the day.
