Nicky Whelan has joined the cast of Glenn Ficarra and John Requa’s dramedy Honeymoon with Harry, which stars Kevin Costner, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Sarah Pidgeon. Whelan’s role is being kept secret. Production on the film took place in her native Australia and has now wrapped.
Based on the bestselling novel by Bart Baker, Honeymoon with Harry centers on a rough-around-the-edges man played by Gyllenhaal who is forced into an unwanted trip with his fiancée’s protective father, played by Costner, after a life-changing event alters their plans. Pidgeon portrays the fiancée.
Ficarra and Requa are directing the project from a script by Dan Fogelman. The ensemble also includes Rita Ora, Orville “Shaggy” Burrell, and Simone Kessell.
The film is being produced by Fogelman, Mike Karz through Gulfstream Pictures, and Jennifer Salke via her newly launched Sullivan Street Productions banner.
Whelan’s next role will see her starring opposite James Franco in the road-trip dramedy Love Meets in the Sunshine. Her previous credits include Hall Pass, Knight of Cups, and Scrubs. She is represented by Mollison Keightley Management in Australia and Kimberly Hines in the United States.
