Over the first four months of the year, new listings in the county were down more than 4%, while closed sales rose more than 1%, suggesting slightly tighter inventory even as demand remained active.

Malkoski said higher interest rates have kept the market somewhat slower, but buyer interest has recently picked up. With inventory lower than in previous years, buyers have fewer options, yet many are still looking to purchase homes in the area. He added that Southlands has been one of Aurora’s fastest-growing areas over the past decade, especially as the city continues to expand eastward.
