Two-Car Crash Closes Road Near North Yorkshire Holiday Park

Two people were taken to hospital after a crash involving two cars outside a holiday park in North Yorkshire.

The collision happened on the A165 at the entrance to Primrose Valley Holiday Park near Filey. North Yorkshire Police said the crash took place at about 10.38am on Sunday, June 7, when a white Hyundai i10 and a grey Peugeot 5008 collided.

Emergency services attended the scene and the occupants of both vehicles were taken to hospital for treatment. Police did not immediately release details about the severity of the injuries.

The road was closed for around four hours while officers investigated the incident. The closure was also needed to allow the damaged vehicles to be recovered and to deal with spillages on the carriageway.

North Yorkshire Police has appealed for witnesses to come forward. Officers want to hear from anyone who saw the collision, anyone who saw either vehicle before the crash, or anyone who may have dashcam footage that could help the investigation.

The force said such information could be important in establishing the circumstances leading up to the accident. Drivers in the area at the time are being urged to check any recorded footage from in-car cameras or mobile devices and pass it on if it shows anything relevant.

The A165 is a key route in the Filey area and the entrance to Primrose Valley Holiday Park can experience busy traffic, particularly during holiday periods and weekends. The crash caused disruption in the area while police worked at the scene and cleared the road.
