Tom Hardy Allegedly Fired From MobLand Over On-Set Behavior, Report Says

Tom Hardy is reportedly no longer attached to Paramount+’s MobLand after finishing work on season 2, amid claims of behind-the-scenes tension with the show’s creative team. Reports from Puck News and Deadline say the actor, who also served as an executive producer, was fired before season 3 could move forward, though season 2 is still expected to include his performance.

The reported reasons for Hardy’s exit include persistent lateness during production, repeated script notes, alleged dialogue changes, and growing conflict over the direction of the series. One report says the situation became serious enough that producer Jez Butterworth nearly quit, prompting Paramount to remove Hardy from the project. Another source claimed Hardy often stayed in his trailer for long periods, leaving cast members waiting on set. Those claims have not been addressed publicly by Hardy, Paramount+, or anyone from the MobLand production team.

The alleged tension is especially notable because Hardy previously spoke highly of his co-stars in public. In an April 2025 interview, he described working with Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, and Paddy Considine as a positive and inspiring experience, praising their talent and saying he had long admired their work. His remarks now stand in contrast to the reports surrounding his departure.

The future of MobLand remains uncertain. Paramount+ has not officially renewed the series for a third season, but Deadline reported that a writers’ room for season 3 has already been assembled, suggesting development may be underway despite the cast shake-up. If the reporting is accurate, Hardy’s exit could mark a major shift for the crime drama as the streamer considers its next move.

For now, the situation remains based on industry reporting rather than a formal announcement. Neither Hardy nor Paramount+ has confirmed the firing, and no public statement has clarified whether the split is permanent or whether the actor could remain involved in any future capacity.
