Beauty influencer Mikayla Nogueira has revealed she was rushed to the hospital after collapsing while filming a makeup tutorial, later learning she needed emergency surgery for a near-ruptured appendix. In a TikTok posted on Friday, June 12, the 27-year-old said the room began spinning, she struggled to breathe, and then passed out on the floor. After waking up, she called 911 because she knew she could not drive herself to the hospital.
Nogueira said paramedics transported her by ambulance, where doctors quickly determined that her appendix was close to rupturing. She underwent immediate emergency surgery and has since had her appendix removed. The social media star said she is now recovering from the procedure and has three incisions on her stomach. She added that her mobility is limited for now and that she “can’t really walk” as she heals.
The influencer explained that she initially brushed off her symptoms, believing the pain was only a stomach ache. She said the discomfort began after she flew home from Los Angeles on Thursday night, when she started feeling significant pain on the plane. After arriving home around 2 a.m., she tried to sleep it off and thought she could push through the discomfort. The episode, however, became serious enough to require urgent medical intervention.
Nogueira also shared that she has been receiving support during recovery from her boyfriend, Zack Panaggio, whom she described as “really sweet.” She first confirmed she was dating again in March, less than a month after announcing her divorce from Cody Hawken. Nogueira and Hawken had been married for two years before their split in February.
When she publicly announced the divorce, Nogueira said in an emotional TikTok that she and Hawken still loved each other deeply and would do anything for one another, but she chose not to share details about the reason for the separation. She added that the couple had been together for five years and that their relationship held many of her best memories.
