TECNO POVA 8 5G Combines Futuristic Design with Future-Ready Performance

vivo has launched the V60 in India as its latest midrange V-series phone, arriving about six months after the V50. The new model is largely based on the China-exclusive vivo S30, continuing vivo’s practice of rebadging domestic devices for international markets, but it introduces several changes aimed at global buyers. The phone is positioned as a premium-looking smartphone with upgraded imaging, large battery capacity, fast charging, and water resistance.
At its core, the vivo V60 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 4nm chipset with an Adreno 722 GPU. It supports up to 16GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage. In India, the V60 starts with an 8GB + 128GB variant, while the China-market S30 begins at a higher 12GB + 256GB configuration.
Camera hardware remains similar to the S30 in some respects, with a 50MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and 50MP front camera. The major addition on the V60 is a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with Sony’s IMX882 sensor and optical image stabilization. This lens enables 3x optical zoom and up to 10x zoom through Stage Portrait Mode, while vivo’s AI Hyper Zoom extends zooming to 50x. The company’s Aura Light Portrait 2.0 ring flash is also included.
The V60 is equipped with a 6,500mAh Si/C BlueVolt battery and supports 90W FlashCharge. Wireless charging is not available, but reverse wired charging is supported. For durability, the phone carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Compared with the S30, the vivo V60 is not an exact clone. It has a larger 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, though its resolution is Full HD+ with 388ppi density. The Chinese S30 uses a smaller 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a sharper 1.2K resolution and 460ppi density. Software also differs: the V60 runs Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15, while the S30 uses OriginOS 5. This confirms that vivo Global has not adopted its Chinese operating system for the new V-series model.
vivo is also emphasizing its AI tools, including AI Erase, Image Expander, AI Magic Move, AI Photography Suite, and AI Four-Season Portrait. The phone continues to feature ZEISS camera branding, which remains one of its premium differentiators in global markets. India-specific features are also expected, including Wedding vLog and Portrait Studio presets.
Design options for the Indian V60 include Auspicious Gold, Moonlit Blue, and Mist Gray. The gold and blue versions use glass backs, while the gray model uses plastic. Thickness varies slightly by color, ranging from 7.53mm to 7.75mm, making the V60 a bit thicker than the S30.
Pricing in India starts at INR 36,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model, INR 38,999 for 8GB + 256GB, INR 40,999 for 12GB + 256GB, and INR 45,999 for 12GB + 512GB. vivo Malaysia has already teased the V60 in Berry Purple and Summer Blue, suggesting a broader international rollout will follow India soon.
