Eve Hewson Says Barack Obama Visited the Disclosure Day Set and Watched Her Film’s Bloody Scene

Eve Hewson said she had an unforgettable day on the set of Disclosure Day when former U.S. President Barack Obama visited the production while she was filming a demanding scene. Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday night, June 9, 2026, the 34-year-old actress described the moment as “bonkers” and said the visit happened on the same day she had to shoot a scene involving intense screaming and a large amount of blood.
Hewson, the daughter of Bono, said she had just finished the scene when Obama approached her and made a lighthearted comment about her performance, asking where she had gotten such a scream and joking that it sounded like she had simply stubbed her toe. She also joked about co-star Josh O’Connor, saying he was so exhausted from being charming that he wanted to go home.
During the interview, Hewson and Fallon discussed the unusual coincidence of Obama visiting the set of a Steven Spielberg film centered on aliens, noting that the former president had previously spoken publicly about the possibility that extraterrestrial life could exist. That led them to jokingly wonder whether Obama and Spielberg might be part of a “secret alien society” brought together by a shared interest in the topic.
Hewson said she had seen a video earlier this year in which Obama discussed aliens, which made her even more curious about how he and Spielberg became friends. The conversation added a playful tone to her appearance and highlighted the excitement around the project.
Disclosure Day is scheduled to open in theaters on Friday, June 15, 2026.
