Stuntman Announced for PS5, Coming Soon, Sony Says

Stuntman: Hollywood is an arcade-style stunt-driving game centered on the excitement of filmmaking, where players race into dangerous movie scenes, perform precise stunts, and try to land the perfect take before the director calls “Cut.” Built around the energy of classic arcade racers and destruction-heavy games such as the original Stuntman series, Burnout, and Split/Second, the game blends speed, pressure, spectacle, and control into one cinematic experience.
The game draws inspiration from Universal Pictures films and NBCUniversal TV shows, including Fast & Furious, Back to the Future, Knight Rider, Miami Vice, and Death Race. Players complete stunt sequences in vehicles tied to these franchises, such as the Time Machine and KITT, along with a wide range of other cars, SUVs, motorcycles, and even a school bus. Each film is divided into episodes, and each episode functions as a distinct level with its own vehicle, gameplay style, objectives, and visual setting, giving every chapter a different feel.
At the heart of the gameplay is the role of a stunt performer working under the demands of a movie production. Directors assign specific tasks such as drifting through sections, holding a clean racing line, crashing through obstacles, dodging gunfire, or riding on two wheels. Every shoot runs against the clock, and players have only a limited number of takes to complete each scene. Alongside these required actions, the game also encourages free-form stunts that reward creativity, risk-taking, and style, such as narrowly avoiding explosions or passing close to hazards for a more dramatic result.
Performance is tracked through a star system that rewards both accuracy and style. Players earn stars based on how well they complete mandatory and optional stunt goals, and the main objective in each episode is to collect as many stars as possible. Additional challenge tasks make familiar scenes more unpredictable and offer another chance to earn higher scores. The number of stars collected determines the quality of the stunt award earned for the completed film, tying each successful run to the broader career progression of the player.
Progress is reflected in the Garage, which serves as a showcase for the player’s career. It fills with trophies, collectibles, and other unlocks earned through episodes, films, challenges, and strong performances. This makes advancement visible at a glance and gives players a clear record of their accomplishments.
Beyond the main film episodes, Stuntman: Hollywood includes B-roll episodes, short filler films, and stunt arenas that expand the experience with more challenges, scenes, and stunt opportunities. Overall, the game is presented as a tribute to the craft of stunt work, where risk, precision, and spectacle come together in the final reward of a successful take.
