Firing Outside Khan Sir’s Coaching Centre in Patna: “I Saw 10 Rounds of Bullets,” Says Khan Sir

Patna, the capital of Bihar, witnessed a reported firing incident outside the coaching center associated with popular educator Khan Sir, amid an alleged power struggle between rival coaching operators. According to the information available, shots were fired near the institute in the Musallahpur Haat area of the city, where Khan Sir’s coaching center is located. The incident quickly drew attention because of Khan Sir’s prominence as one of Bihar’s best-known teachers and coaching entrepreneurs, especially among students preparing for competitive examinations.

Khan Sir said he was present at the spot when the firing took place and claimed to have seen around eight to ten rounds being fired. He also stated that a security guard was injured in the incident. In his remarks, Khan Sir suggested that the dispute was linked to competition in the coaching business and said that some rival coaching operators did not want him to teach at such low fees. He added that they also appeared unhappy with the strong results produced by his coaching institute.

He further claimed that when the Bihar Police recruitment results were announced, thousands of candidates qualified through his guidance, after which some anti-social elements came and threatened him. According to him, these individuals assaulted guards and were associated with rival coaching circles. Khan Sir said the issue was connected to dissatisfaction over affordable coaching fees and the success of his students.

The incident is being linked to a long-standing rivalry between Khan Sir and another coaching operator, identified in local reports as the head of another institute. Preliminary accounts suggest that the dispute may involve competition for dominance in Patna’s coaching market, where student preparation centers for exams such as SSC, Railway, BPSC and UPSC are highly competitive and financially significant.

Police reached the location soon after the report of the incident and began investigating the matter. Officers are reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area and questioning eyewitnesses to determine what happened. However, there has been no official confirmation yet from the police regarding the exact cause of the firing or the identity of the alleged attackers.

City SP Deeksha said that, so far, no concrete evidence of gunfire has been found and that CCTV footage is being examined. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not issued a final statement on whether the incident was a firing or what led to the confrontation.

Khan Sir runs Khan Sir Academy in Patna and is widely known for preparing students for competitive examinations. He also made headlines in 2025 after a private wedding, followed later by a reception in Patna that was attended by prominent political leaders, teachers, and thousands of students and guests.
